Swindon Borough Council are recruiting a Support Worker for the Building Independent Futures service in the Swindon area. This position is based on a 37 hour a week contract with weekends and evenings on a rota basis. You should be a flexible worker and someone who is able to work hours over 7 days a week, including alternate weekends. This department is focused on developing models of care for those with disabilities that provide high quality accommodation, flexible care from a dedicated team as well as support from a wider network, including supported employment and education for daily living skills.

 

The team you would work apart of as a Support Worker is focused on developmental care models for those with disabilities, service users with us are provided with high quality accommodation, flexible care from a dedicated team, support from a wider network, including supported employment opportunities and skills for living in accommodation alone or supported. This team is dedicated to supporting individuals living together in a household and providing support to those who need it to maintain independent living within their own accommodation.

 

As a Support Worker an example of some of your roles would be to support individuals with their medication strictly following all medication guidelines and rules as well as liaise with family members as required, supporting individuals to maintain their homes cleanliness and to ensure that is it safe to live in, to make sure everything you do adheres to all Health & Safety, Infection Control and Data Protection guidelines and procedures, completing and maintaining risk assessments for all sessions to ensure service user safety and to take part in staff training programs to develop further and ensure that all knowledge is up to date.

 

Your career so far will be one that has previously worked in similar roles before that deal with Health and Safety regulations, risk assessments, medication plans and more. If you feel this is something you can do we would love to hear from you, however, you will need an enhanced DBS check, proof of right to work in the UK documentation and satisfactory previous employment references.
