Support Worker - based in Shaw

As a support worker in one of Homes in Shaw will be working alongside our caring, committed, and reliable support workers who deliver a variety of care to the individual that lives there. A typical day in the lives of one our support worker’s is varied, empowering, rewarding and supportive

I am M and I am in need of a team to support me who are confident, patient and fun.  I have a good sense of humour and enjoy sharing a joke, or as I call it ‘having someone to banter with’. I require my team to have a ‘go get’, ‘can do’ attitude, as I have lots of plans for my future. A driver is desirable to allow me to get out and about, as I am hoping to purchase a car, and I would like my team to be able to support me to attend all the sporting activities that I enjoy.

I like socialising especially going to the pub, and enjoy all sports, in particular going to rugby matches and watching any sport on the TV, so having Sky Sports is a necessity for me. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

A consistent approach is very important to me and I would like a team who are experienced in supporting people with similar needs to me, and who will proactively enable me to rediscover my independence as I move forward. Some previous experience within a care environment would be helpful, but I know the White Horse Care Trust will provide training and development opportunities for the team.

You will be required to aid with personal care, mobility support, assistance with meals, medication & clinical support, social activities, and any additional services required. An example of our shift patterns: 7am-2pm & 2pm–10pm, paid sleep in
