At Bembridge House we support eight individuals, here is what one of these individuals told us they were looking for -

I live with 7 other unique individuals, each of us have different support needs and there is an amazing team of people who help us with all the daily living needs we have. I am 24 year old gentleman with lots of energy, I love to engage and have fun with everyone that I meet.  I have an amazing sense of humour and I am told my smile is one of the best you will have ever seen.

I share my support with the other people that I live with, and our team is looking for more people who are caring, compassionate and who like to have fun, to join them. There are plenty of staff who will work alongside you, I particularly need a consistent approach from all of my staff so that behaviours that may cause concern, can be managed effectively.

People say that I have quite a cheeky and mischievous personality that nonetheless is endearing, I do need constant supervision (to ensure that I don’t harm myself). Although I am unable to communicate verbally, I am able to express my wishes through touch, facial expression and my body language.

I like high energy atmospheres such as pubs, football, trampolining parties and music sessions, but I also enjoy more relaxed activities such as walks in the local area in my wheelchair, hand and feet massages, reading my magazines,  intensive 1:1 sessions with staff and swimming at the hydrotherapy pool.

I have complex health needs, a severe learning disability, along with significant epilepsy, which is well controlled although I need support to manage this.  In addition to this I require 1:1 support with PEG feeding and some 2:1 support for other aspects of my daily living.

I hope you get in touch, and if you are successful, look I forward to meeting you and spending time getting to know you.
