Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Support Leader within Adult Social Care. This is a newly created permanent vacancy based in Swindon, working on a full time basis Monday to Friday. If you are passionate about people, keen to make the difference to the lives of others, with previous  experience of the Care Sector, this could be the job role for you.

As a Support Leader your career to-date will evidence previous care working experience, which could have been gained in a Residential Facility or in Supported Living, working with a range of Adults with complex needs and learning disabilities. You will be responsible for assisting the Deputy manager in the day-to-day running of the in-house provider services.

Main duties will include the delegation of workloads, care resources and staff inductions, mentoring new staff and assisting with planning and submission of staff Rota’s. This role offers great opportunity to use your proven administration and communication skills, ensuring that all staff are aware of their movements and job allocations, the need to provide guidance and support, holding regular teams meetings and producing written reports and meeting notes and agendas.

As a Support Leader, you may be called upon to offer your experience as a Front Line Carer, should the need arise for additional support and where the services request. The need for complete flexibility is key as your expertise in the Care Sector will be greatly appreciated. The need to drive and have access to your own vehicle is required as there will be a need to visit different care facilities as and when requested.

You will be able to demonstrate proven work experience in the Health and Social Care sector and/or have completed NVQ Level 3. From November the 11th 2021, new government legislation requires people working in CQC regulated care homes to have had 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to enter the premises (unless you hold a medical exemption). Satisfactory employment references are requested plus proof of an enhanced DBS check.
