Stepping Stone Project Manager, working in the wider Housing Team at Swindon Borough Council. This exciting and highly rewarding post is focused on supporting the homeless and vulnerable people in Swindon to help change their lives, end rough sleeping and therefore encourage people to find suitable, safe and long term housing and/or accommodation.

As a Stepping Stone Project Manager you will take the lead on our brand new Stepping Stone Project, which is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and inspiring service aimed at ending rough sleeping in Swindon. You will intensively support up to 20 people with a varied range of needs and empower them to live independently. We believe that no one should be homeless and you will be instrumental in helping the Swindon Borough Council to achieve this. Working in a trauma informed way, you will understand why people become homeless, and the challenges of helping people with complex needs make positive changes to their lives.

You will project manage and implement the Stepping Stone Project, managing 10 units of accommodation in Swindon and in partnership with Tenancy Services, ensuring minimum void times, work closely with The Development and Strategy Team to ensure we are procuring the correct sort of accommodation. This role includes the provision of high level and bespoke tenancy support for people who have been rough sleepers or have been at risk of rough sleeping. The need to conduct risk assessments, engage with the wider team and build relationships with your allocated 20 people is your key focus, consistently reporting back to the team and delivering best outcomes for all.

You will need good IT skills to include e-mail, Word, Excel and data entry; ensuring data is entered accurately, previous experience of working in a busy environment and able to work to tight deadlines. Experience of producing reports and analysing data , working with and understanding written policy and procedures and applying policy for decision-making. This will include some lone working, therefore an understanding of Health and Safety and Safeguarding requirements are needed for this role. Ideally you will be Degree level qualified or equivalent professional qualification/experience.

Knowledge of The Mental Health Capacity Act, working knowledge of Housing and/or tenancy management would be desirable for this exciting role. To apply for this post you will need Stafstrom refences, The Right to Work in The UK and be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
