The White Horse Care Trust are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join one of our friendly residential homes, for adults with Learning Disabilities in Dramsdon SN8, where we support a number of individuals.
The successful candidates will have a minimum of two years’ experience of supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and have or be willing to achieve, their Level 3 Diploma in Care. This is a full time role, working 37 hours a week and will include flexible working, some weekends and bank holidays.
As well as a competitive and negotiable salary you will receive enhanced rates for Sunday and Bank Holidays, plus 5.6 paid holidays (Including bank holidays). We have a pension scheme and a company sickness scheme (subject to length of service) and an additional locality payment, to help meet your travel costs.
Within this role -
You will assist the Home Manager in the general day to day management of the service and in the supervision of staff
You will be expected to provide a good professional role model for Support Workers and build supportive and friendly relationships with the people we support
You will help to ensure that a positive and imaginative approach is adopted by the support team to assist in the development of a culture, that supports the physical and emotional needs of each individual we work with
You will work with the Home Manager to ensure that the management of the service fits into the overall framework of policies, procedures and guidelines provided by The White Horse Care Trust
You will be able to demonstrate initiative and be confident about communicating with people from all walks of life
You will also hold a full driving licence
You will understand Risk Assessments & Support Plans
You will have a strong desire for continuing professional development, by identify and attending a wide range of training
An enhanced disclosure (DBS) will be required for this role, the Trust will meet the cost of this.
