The Kinship and Fostering Team work with some of our most vulnerable children in Wiltshire.
The Countywide team has responsibility for Fostering recruitment, assessment, approval, training and support across Wiltshire to increase the volume, quality and range of foster carers across Wiltshire.
This includes mainstream foster carers, overnight short break carers, connected persons foster carers, special guardians and private fostering arrangements.
About the role
As a Recruitment Support Worker (RSW), your focus will be to work as part of a small sub team to provide support to our ’recruitment front door’ and placement finding services, within the Kinship and Fostering Team. A small sub team of RSW’s provide the single point of contact for all enquiries into Wiltshire Council, responding to enquiries, providing information about fostering and carrying out initial assessments of applicant’s suitability to become foster carers.
You will also establish positive relationships with our current Foster carers and those approved through the assessment process to assist on a rota basis for ensuring children and young people are matched successfully with potential foster carers.
You will be educated to an NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and have a good understanding of relevant policies and procedures around children in care whilst understanding the importance of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We will look to you to have proven experience of working with vulnerable children and an understanding of trauma informed practice would be advantageous.
It is important you are well organised with the ability to work autonomously, flexibly and under pressure. You should possess fantastic customer liaison skills and a ‘can do’ approach to be successful in this role.
