As these are permanent job opportunities, you will need to have flexibility for working hours, which will include working rotational weekends. You will be joining a highly successful team who have been able to ensure that over 80% of all service users have been able to remain living in their own homes without any formal support. Afterall this is where we all need to be, living at home, having dignity, independence, safety and comfort in familiar surroundings.

The Reablement Team at Swindon Borough Council have been highly commended by the Health Journal this year, for improving value in the care of frail, older patients in the Swindon Community. This provides the necessary evidence to ensure that your career in Reablement will be fully supported and developed by a successful, committed team.

You will be working alongside other health ad social care professionals, taking part in the monitoring of service users mental and physical health, support and enable them to assess other service to ensure complete delivery of support.  Joining this highly trained and knowledgeable team, working in the Swindon Community to offer ongoing care and support to Adults who really need your time, care and support now.

No one day is the same as every service user has very different needs, therefore the need for good listening and communication skills is key to the success of your career. Getting to know each service use and their family/support network is important, taking time to listen and share life experience and show an interest in their lives and possible hobbies and pastimes.

Your training will cover Mental Health, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, COSHH, Food Hygiene, First Aid and all regulated Care related training and development. Ideally we are seeking applicants who have had previous experience, however if you have the core values and skills and hoping to secure a lifelong career as a Reablement Support Worker, we would love to hear from you.
