The post sits within our Performance, Outcomes & Quality Assurance Service in the People Directorate (Children and Adults Services), which has made excellent progress on its journey to transform the lives of the vulnerable across the County.

About the role

Under the direction of the Principal Social Worker (PSW), you will lead on creating, maintaining and flexing a suite of fit-for-purpose audit resources that supports the practice of auditing.

There will be dotted line supervision to the Principal Occupational Therapist (POT).  You will provide advice and guidance on auditing, both technical and using you understanding of social care practice standards and statutory requirements. 

You will be the recipient of all completed audits across the service, capture key findings relating to compliance, quality and outcomes, and provide insights and reports to a variety of stakeholders. 

The role will be the driving force behind ensuring our auditing practice is completed thoroughly, swiftly, transparently and effectively and is the central point for the tracking of practice development activity.  The role will provide the capacity to manage this activity across the directorate making sure quality assurance is taking place, findings are recorded and outcomes are captured, analysed and reported to the Principal Social Worker, Principal Occupational Therapist, HR/OD and other relevant managers on any emerging themes so they can take forward any appropriate practice development.

There are a wide variety of quality assurance activities in use within our services: thematic audits (e.g., quality of assessments), in-service audits conducted by teams (e.g., to check threshold application or case drift), case dip sampling/case file auditing and peer review audits. 

About You

You will hold a relevant degree or extensive experience of working in Adult/Social Care Services, and display a high standard of organisation, coordination, IT (advanced Excel and Word) and report writing skills, as well as a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.

You will be able to collate, analyse, interpret and disseminate complex management information, use your own initiative and be a self-starter and problem solver, as well as being able to motivate others.

You should also have a good understanding of auditing processes.

Interviews will be held on: Thursday 29th June – Friday 30th June 2023.
