Learning Disability People and Partnership Lead – Swindon
This permanent career opportunity is based in Swindon, working for Swindon Borough Council and focuses on hearing the voice of people in Swindon and using it to affect positive changes and outcomes. With a emphasis on Learning Disabilities and Autism, you will also work with a wide group of individuals as and when required.
The role and responsibility of the Learning Disability People and Partnership Lead is offered with an attractive annual salary and excellent employee benefits, further supported by high levels of training, personal development and further education. Main responsibilities will include the planning and development of services for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism for Adults services including work with Children’s Services on transition planning. Working under the direct control of the strategic commissioner, the strategic approach of both Swindon borough Council, the ICA and BANES integrated care systems to ensure that the people have the access to universal and targeted services relative to their disability and condition.
To oversee and coordinate the delivery of all strategic needs, assessments, Regional and National legislation and guidance are the key objectives and areas of responsibility. Working with a wider team you will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, the ability to engage, encourage and develop robust relationships with all service partners, producing highly confidential reports for Council Members, Boards and associated bodies. Providing expert advice and knowledge of all research and policy requirements in line with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism at key events and strategic meetings, plus all associated presentation material forms a key element to this role.
Ideally as Learning Disability People and Partnership Lead, you will be educated to Degree Level (or similar), previous employment experience gained in the LD and/or Autism sector, with legislative knowledge and a recognised qualification in either Social Care, Education or Health.
