Kitchen Assistant – 30 hours per week

This is a permanent career opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Assistant, someone who has worked in catering and meal preparation sectors and seeking a permanent, stable career working in the social care sector. Based in The Upper Stratton/Stanton Fitzwarren area in Swindon, you will need access to your own transport due to the location and flexible working hours. You will be assisting the Head Cook in the preparation and service of meals to residents who have a variety of nutritional and dietary requirements, taking into consideration the importance of delivering healthy, tasty and wholesome meals, making meal times a real pleasure and something to look forward to. It’s all about maintaining the atmosphere and practices of the care home based on the values of Methodist Homes deriving from a concern for the individual and genuinely caring, showing compassion, respect and dignity for those in late life.

Ideally you will hold formal Food Handling and Food Hygiene Certification with previous work experience gained from working in a busy kitchen or catering establishment, able to work as part of a team with a joyful, sociable and approachable personality.
