Handy Person/Mini Bus Driver
This is a permanent position working 39 hours per week with a competitive salary. The Jubilee Gardens Project is a registered charity, based in Purton Stoke on the outskirts of Swindon and was created to provide education and training for adults who experience varying levels of Learning Disability. Church Bush Hall in Purton Stoke is a horticultural training centre providing support for all students in literacy, numeracy and social skills, where through individual achievement, the students are given the opportunity to develop an awareness of their own abilities, so becoming more confident within themselves and in their relationships with others.
As a Handy Person/Mini Bus Driver, you will have 2 main areas of responsibility:
You are responsible for driving the project mini-bus, including the home collection and safe delivery of students to Church Bush Hall in Purton. The need to ensure that the mini-bus is maintained in good, safe working order, including arranging vehicle serving, MOT’s, purchasing of fuel and general day to day maintenance of the mini-bus. You will need to maintain accurate records, correct mileage and receipts for fuel. Responsible for driving students to events and days’ out which will form a key role in this position.
As a Handy Person/Mini Bus Driver you will be responsible for the general upkeep of all garden areas, to include garden weeding, watering, planting, maintaining the onsite buildings, cleaning, painting, repairs and minor construction tasks.
For this position, you will be requested to undertake all necessary training such a First Aid, Health and safety and safeguarding, all in line with the business requirements. This is a busy and varied role, which brings great reward working with people who really do benefit from the use of the Jubilee Gardens Project.
Naturally you will have a PCV Licence, Category D1 in order to drive the Mini Bus, a sociable personality and a willingness to help others achieve a happy and fulfilling life.
