Experienced Social Worker


Swindon Borough Council is looking to appoint additional Qualified and Experienced Social Workers to undertake Manager roles’ in our Adult Safeguarding Team. The new appointments are due to a review of the our Safeguarding Adults Team structure and governance here in Swindon. 

These are full time, permanent posts that offer an attractive salary and enhanced employee benefits package. 
The overall objective is to improve the service we provide to the people of Swindon and we are now developing an Adult Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub with our Health and Police partners..

 We are looking for individuals with in-depth knowledge and experience of safeguarding practice and procedures, and ideally a proven track record in an Enquiry Manager Role (or willingness to undertake training). You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills, and a commitment to a person-centred, asset-based approach
Social work is a dynamic and demanding profession that requires a variety of skills and qualities. 

As a Social Worker, you will have access to a  variety of settings within a framework of relevant legislation and procedures, supporting Adults with a range of physical disabilities and those who have been discharged from hospital in line with The Care Act 2014. 

Working closely with the families and professional bodies included in the Adult’s long term care plans,  your work will be based in hospitals, residential care facilities, in people’s homes or on the premises of other public sector and voluntary organisations. This will ensure a varied, rewarding and hugely fulfilling role that will challenge your experienced knowledge as a Social Worker and help develop new career skills and talents. 

As a Qualified and Experienced Social Worker you will have studied a three year undergraduate degree or a two year postgraduate degree in social work that is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will also need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role). 

You will be responsible for managing newly qualified social workers, offering a mentoring and development role to support their careers.
