Chef required - Residential, Care Home – Highworth based on 25 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday plus 13 hours during the week. This is a very flexible role for the right person and is offered with an attractive salary and enhanced employee benefits. You may need your own transport due to location.
To apply for the position of Chef, we would expect you to have the necessary qualifications (at least NVQ 2/3 Level Level or equivalent), with a sound knowledge and experience of Food and Hygiene Standards, Food Preparation, Nutrition and Kitchen Health and Safety Certifications.
As a Chef in this Residential Care Home, we are looking for freshly prepared, tasty, nutritious and healthy food, offering variety with a keen understanding of allergies and special dietary requirements. The home caters for 20 residents, therefore the need to plan, prepare and manage complex menu plans is key to this role
This role is all about planning, ensuring that food stocks are in place, re-ordered when necessary all whilst managing the kitchen budget. The ability to think ahead, offer new and creative meals, whilst engaging with the residents to obtain their opinions is highly important. You will have the help of a kitchen assistant plus the care assistants to help deliver the meals, consistently maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen, checking that all utensils and equipment is maintained to exceptional standards.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment, requesting and ordering replacements if not to standard, keeping stringent Health and safety records and being aware of all kitchen hygiene and safeguarding practices.
