As an experienced Chef/Cook you will be supporting a number of permanent residents who live in this lovely facility based in Stratton, Swindon, You will need to show warmth and compassion to our residents and their families, helping to promote independence and positively enhancing their lives because our residents are the heart of everything we do.
To achieve this:
· Prepare and serve all meals, in a timely manner
· Have an input in preparing menus and agree them with the Kitchen manager, including preferences, special diets and foods as needed
· Create duty rotas for catering staff in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, ensuring there are enough skilled staff on duty
· Under the supervision of the manager, order enough levels of supplies for the catering operation from specified suppliers, using Wemyss Lodge Limited procedures and maintain strict control over costs
· Operate an efficient stock control system
· Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training
· Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately. If any machine is felt to be dangerous, withdraw it from service immediately
· Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals we support
Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, family and health care professionals.
Our team need to understand dignity, respect and the importance of offering choice.
Staff should have knowledge of how we are regulated by CQC.
Essential Requirements for the role:
Minimum 3 years experience as a chef/Cook
Food Hygiene level 2 up to date

Day shifts from 7.00am to 7.00pm over seven days, 12 hour shifts
