Casual Passenger Assistants required for 15 hours per week, supporting children, young people and adults during their journey on social care transport here in Swindon. Ideally you will have some previous experience of working with and supporting people with special educational needs and/or physical and learning disabilities. Taking time to make them at ease during the journey and ensuring safe arrival at a number of locations in and around Swindon.
Naturally as a Casual Passenger Assistant, you will receive the very best training and on-job coaching as each and every person had very different needs, which could include assistance with mobile aids such as wheelchairs, walking frames and other supports.
Your role is all about making the journey as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, taking time to talk, listen and get to know the passengers therefore making them feel safe and confident in their daily journeys to school, day centres, appointments and other activities. You will enjoy working with people, having those core values and skills so urgently needed when offering the best support and companionship to those who simply need to feel at ease.
As a Casual Passenger Assistant, you will need to be flexible as the hours can vary ranging from early mornings to evenings, being on hand to assist if the need arises. Your training will cover all aspects of managing requirements and supporting those with a range of complex learning and physical disabilities, behavioral management and safeguarding training, sign language and more ‘soft’ skills needed for all communication requirements.
