Swindon Borough Council is looking to hire Care Support Workers to provide care for Adults who may reside in managed facilities or those who prefer to live in their own homes. To apply for these permanent positions you will need to have complete flexibility plus the ability to travel around the Swindon community.
As a Care Support Worker, ideally you will have previous Care experience, however with the right attitude, the core values and skills and the ability to genuinely care for others is key to the overall success of these positions. You will have excellent communication skills, a friendly and caring approach, whilst delivering ‘person centered’ care to each and every person to ensure happy, healthy and independent lives.
Getting to know your service users, understanding their individual needs and gaining trust will form the basis of a solid care plan, working to develop and encourage independence, whilst supporting where needed. There is much communication with the family of the service users, with professionals such as physiotherapists, community nursing, medical staff and GP Practices, ensuring that the people that you care for receive the very best support available.
Working on a full time basis, which does include rotational weekends and some evenings will help to provide the local community with valuable and additional Care Support Workers. Following the necessary regulated training plans, you will work as part of wider team in the delivery of care plans, which will include personal care, washing, dressing, medication, meal preparation, household duties and providing companionship plus supporting with hobbies and outside interests.
